  28. The following description is brief to get you started quickly.
  29. For more detailed help in text form, see the files in the 'manual' directory.
  30.  
  31. To start the program double click on the icon in the directory viewer.
  32. Click SELECT on the icon bar "simnet" icon to produce the control window.
  33.  
  34. * To load an existing password file *
  35. Click SELECT on the "display" button in the control window. The local
  36. fileserver must either be running or have been "seen" by the filer.
  37.  
  38. * To select a different server *
  39. Click MENU over the menu icon in the top part of the control window.
  40. A menu will appear after a few seconds delay with a list of the known
  41. fileservers. Select the required server from the menu. Click SELECT on
  42. the "display" button again to view the password file of the selected server.

  44. (Note: Password files load faster when !SimNet is running on the same
  45. machine as the server software. This is because !SimNet uses direct access
  46. to the disk file rather than using the file server protocol, which is
  47. very inefficient for bulk loading password entries.)

  49. !SimNet has extensive interactive help messages displayed using the
  50. standard Acorn !Help application.
  51.  
  52. This program has been through a rigorous test regime .. well at one
  53. location at least. There are no 'obvious' faults, but I will strive
  54. to fix any issues that may arise in practice. This cannot be guaranteed,
  55. of course, but there is even less chance of a fix if no one tells me
  56. about faults!
